Barb Steward, "long distance" club member living in Bemidji, Minnesota, reports that she just finished her Tibetan Spaniel, Sunny, at the Coulee Kennel Club shows in Onalaska, WI, on August 7. Sunny is now officially Ch. Namtrah Solar Flare! Conformation is not Sunny's favorite activity, but she's enjoyed it much more since she and Barb can do it together. She finished with Winner's Bitch and Best of Breed under Judge Peggy Haas - the same judge who gave Sunny her very first point and Best of Breed over a Special at the Wenatchee Kennel Club show 3 years ago. Sunny will be shown occasionally as a Special but her next BIG job will be in the whelping box.

Sundew finished her ASFA Lure coursing Championship in June and at this trial went Best of Breed both days and Best in Field on Sundayl This was her second ASFA BIF!!

Ramona handled by Mary Timiras and owned by Mary and Christina Davitt earned her International Title as Jugend Champion at the International Show in Enumclaw on July 10-11. It was a very nice show - low key and each of the four judges gave a written critique on each dog and their performance.

Krystle handled by Katie Jourdan and owned by Marilyn Sterley Q'd in Jumpers and Weavers on June 26th at the Agility Trial in Monroe. She also received a ribbon for the fastest time in her group and a ribbon for a perfect score. Way to go Krystle!

Hope won 3 back to back 4 point majors at the Lewiston Spring Cluster.  It was a fabulous weekend!!!

Barb Benner says- YAHOO -- I hope I am not boring anyone but I am SO excited about Zenith's vet visit today. Z's muscle development has improved significantly over the past 2 weeks, and we can start doing SOME agility!!!!!!! No A-frames or teeters for a while, because of the force with which Zenith takes those obstacles . But, tunnels and weave poles are OK, some jumping is OK as long as we don't overdo things. We have another appointment in 2 weeks to check progress -- further improvement will likely be more gradual, but Z is 5 also on less prednisone now, so that should help. After the Agility 5 class today I let her do a few tunnels, weaves, and 12" jumps and she was SO happy -- and as one of my friends commented, she hasn't lost her voice either!

Well, we did it again, another Q and 3rd Place. Now we know what we need to work on, those Deadly Offset Figure 8's. Most important though, Chloe had Fun. And we ran out for cookies afterwards.

Woohooooo, we got our first leg in Rally Advanced A. She also got 3rd Place as well. It was a tough one, as she was really wanting to have the Zoomies, but we made it through, and made it past the Offset Figure 8 with 1 sniff of the bowl. But we got it and looking forward to Sunday.

4/17/10 - "Sprocket" Thornapple's Nuts and Bolts - WD for 1 point at Ephrata-Moses Lake Kennel Club under Ms. Sandra A. McCambridge. Sprocket is owned by Eric Brouwer and Lori Burger, handled by Ashley Burger.

Mojo qualified for his first leg towards his CDX (Advanced Obedience) at the WA State Obedience Training Club trial in Seattle. Also rec'd a 4th place ribbon. Of the 19 entries for the two days, four dogs passed, so we are really proud of Mojo.

Just gotta brag about Dylan, our awesome young Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Willard ran him on the Saturday of the Moses Lake Agility Trials. It was Dylan's first trial after just 10 weeks of training and he qualified in both the Standard and Jumpers classes! Yay Dylan!

Bertie earned her Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers with weaves at the Moses Lake/Ephrata show on Friday. Hurray Tim and Bertie!!!!!

3/14/10 YAY! Chena is now an official Tracking Dog!

She passed her test on Sunday - led me across and through sage and brush in the Palisades area to where those tricky judges left their glove. Lots of fun and a cool new plaque to put on the wall.

Very weird to release all control of where we were going, and rely on her little nose to follow the scent track and get us to the glove.

4/3/10 - Sophie/Maggy Susman - Maggy Susman & Dale Huber add that Sophie earned her 3rd and 4th leg in Rally Advanced at the WSOTC (Washington State Obedience Training Club) in North Seattle, April 3rd and 4th. She did a nice job and we are very pleased!

4/3/10 - Mojo/Vicki & Ernie Hobbs - Open Obedience Q with a 4th Placement
Ernie and Vicki Hobbs report that Mojo, Bichon Frise, qualified for his first leg towards his CDX, (Advanced Obedience) Title at the WA State Dog Training Club trial on April 3rd. Great show, recommend for anyone doing Rally or Obedience. The trial was held at old Sand Point Naval Base on Sandpoint Way. Parking is free and right besides the building.
