problems. Puppies must have had
at least 2 “puppy shots.” For puppies 3-5 months old on the

Tracking
Teach your
dog to track a person and find a lost article – it’s easier than
you think! Start a beginner dog, get help with corners, learn
handling techniques and more. This class will be held outdoors
in the Wenatchee area at a location to be determined later.
Intermediate tracking dogs will track after the beginners.
Agility Foundations
This class
will teach important skills needed to advance through the
successive levels of agility training including attention on
handler, working with distractions, sit-stays and down- stays,
go-outs, working on both sides of the handler and working with a
ladder and wobble board. Handler will learn clicker training,
shaping, luring, targeting, motivation, use of toys, rewards,
and more. Dogs may be younger than one year of age.
Agility 1
Dogs must be
at least one year old and have completed the Foundations of
Agility class or an obedience class.
Handler will learn front cross, rear cross, and pivot turns,
inward and outward. Dogs will progress to being off-leash,
learning to be called over an obstacle and being sent over an
obstacle to a target. Dogs will begin learning the straight
tunnel, chute, pause table, and single jumps (including tire
jump) at dog’s elbow height. The A-frame, dogwalk, and teeter
will be started, all at a low height. Dogs will walk through
six straight weave poles on lead or tab, and “weave pole dance”
through 12 Weave-a-Matics off-lead.
Agility 2
Dog must be
able to do all agility obstacles at low height independently, 12
Weave-a-matics or channels and go through six weaves on lead or
tab with few corrections and reliably come to owner when called.
Class will include off-lead warm-ups, front and rear crosses,
pivot turns, come to either side position; 3- and 4-jump
patterns, tire and broad jumps; L-curved tunnel; A-frame from
low to half height; dogwalk from low to regulation height;
contacts with target and hoops; weave poles from both sides,
working toward independence; work toward regulation teeter.
“Start” criteria, running starts, lead out starts. Send and
call over obstacle.
Agility 3
Dog must be
able to do 6 straight-up weave poles (with handler on either
side), and full height teeter and dogwalk, all independent of
handler. Handler should be able to send dog to jump, tunnel,
and table from 5 feet.
In this class, dogs will work toward 12 independent weave poles,
with entries from a variety of points. Handling maneuvers will
include rear crosses, serpentines, and boxes. Lead-outs with
turns plus lead-outs from pause table. Distance handling: work
toward 10 foot send to obstacles. U-tunnel. Contacts proofing,
distractions while running. Dogs will be working on only two
contact obstacles per class. Jumping mostly at ¾ jump height
inside, broad jump, doubles and triples. Dogs and handlers who
successfully complete Agility 3 should be ready for Agility
competition at the Novice level.
