I’m looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends at our Annual Dinner on January 28th. It will be fun to learn a little about the non-agility programs we offer – I’ve been trying to learn as I go through everyone’s brags, but sometimes the acronyms defeat me. Be sure when you send me your brags at jbflatten@charter.net, you write them to your audience, which includes people like me who may not know much about events in which we don’t participate. Many of you may get a kick out of one of my first emails to Chuck asking what BOB meant! Hey, I still have trouble calling female dogs “bitches...”
Brad and I are deep in to our winter ski season, something we unfortunately can’t do with our dogs. But in looking at YouTube again for a video, I found that some dogs do get to do incredible things with skiers. Check this video out on the 2010 Winter Purina Incredible Dog Challenge:

&feature=related. I especially like the segment where the dog is racing a slalom skier down the hill through weave poles!

The club is looking for a new Obedience/Rally Chairperson for the fall Dog Show. Contact Chuck St. John if you are interested.
We love new members! If you have a friend or family member who is interested in joining or learning more about our Club, please call Carol at (509) 665-9987 for further information.
12/11/11: Marti Darling and "Jane" placed 1st with a score of 100 in Standard Novice Preferred - jump height 16" (Judge Jo Ann Mather) at Argus Ranch - Western Washington Hound Association Agility Trial
Margie Clark has renewed her Therapy Dog International Evaluator status. Anyone interested in having a dog certified or re-evaluated as a therapy dog should call Margie at 884-6888 or email at k9begood@yahoo.com for test dates. Your dog will also be certified as Canine Good Citizen (CGC) at the same time. AKC has recently titled therapy dogs after certification by an Evaluator, and 50 facility visits. Margie’s Sheltie, Gina, and BC Angie were therapy dogs for many years. You may recall that Maggy Susman was the first WKC member to qualify for this title. Please feel free to contact Margie for more information.
Email your brags to jbflatten@charter.net by the 10th of the month for inclusion here.
